Lia Lütolf
Lia Lütolf, dancer, is originally from Kerns in Obwalden and received her dance training in classical ballet and contemporary dance in Lucerne and Zurich. At the same time, she completed her Matura at the secondary school in Obwalden. In 2023, she obtained her bachelor's degree in Contemporary Dance at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). In her bachelor's thesis, she explored the relationship between dance and space, which led to the video project Framework (2023).
In the season 2022/23, she was engaged at Ballett Theater Plauen-Zwickau (Germany) under the direction of Sergei Vanaev, where she completed her internship. Back in Switzerland, she worked with Lit Dance Company for the piece Sapere Aude, with performances at Alte Reithalle Aarau and Theater Arth. This was followed by projects with Luca Signoretti at Theater Casino Zug and participation in Brückerei#2, a choreographic development platform under the mentorship of Jonathan Burrows at Tanzhaus Zürich.
She has danced in choreographies by Nadav Zelner, Luca Signoretti, Alba Castillo, Bryan Arias, Dunja Jocic, Neel Jansen, Sergei Vanaev and Mário Radačovský, amongst others.
Lia is currently based in Switzerland and works as a freelance dancer. She is also studying for a BSc in Business Administration and Sports Management at the Swiss Distance-Learning University (FFHS) and is author of the book «arabesque – brisé – chassé – Bedeutung von Bezeichnungen im klassischen Ballett»
